The assignment for creating the interactive fiction was by far, the most intriguing and aw inspiring in the course. Although seemingly terrifying at first, Twine made coding seem more simplistic and easier to approach. I really appreciate this, because it makes it easier, as well as more comfortable for me to dive into the assignment. Not to mention the ability of creating an actual story out of the coding. Creating the story from original thought, was also something I found exceedingly entertaining. This made the assignment more worth while. Not to say the actual coding itself wasn’t, because it most certainly was. But rather the fiction is more of the icing on the cake per say. However, I will say the coding did create numerous problems, such as the manipulation of the variables. This by far was the most irritating in the assignment as a whole. The application and coding is very particular and specific about what is displayed and typed up. It would be easier for auto-corrects, but I suppose that would make things too easy. However, with that being said, this also made the assignment more thrilling and exciting. This is primarily because the application’s complexity made the pain and despair of learning the format and coding, a more rewarding type of satisfaction once you’ve learned and completed what your sought out for. This made the assignment thrilling, which I certainly appreciated. In conclusion, this final assignment was spectacular. I wish to do more assignments like these in the future. This assignment also has given me idea’s for possibly taking future computer science courses in the future. And frankly, I have this assignment and course to thank.
